How to avoid scams by booking your hotel on the Internet

How to avoid scams by booking your hotel on the Internet
There is nowadays a new trend that users are steered less than in the past on the number of star hotels and more about the scores given by users on online booking sites. A score greater than 8 in 10 for a 3 star
hotel will be generally regarded as a better score of 7 for a four star!

And besides, the question arises as to what these stars are still valid. Take the case of Brussels: a 5 star hotel even made sure to be demoted to the status of four stars and this for two reasons. The first is that it was so significant savings internally. The second is that with the crisis, a lot of companies - austerity oblige - require their executives not to travel in 5 star hotels and prefer their 4 stars!

But back to online booking sites. If they are more effective than a catalog or a travel agent - if only because of the fact that last can not get in all hotels listed in catalogs - it should nevertheless be wary comments that appear on some websites.

In the case of booking.com, there is no danger, as only people who have stayed at the hotel in question may give their opinion. In contrast, other sites, we will not name, do not always have the same ethics rule. One of them has just been sentenced by the Italian judiciary for its local site that not misbehaved false comments - in this case of accolades completely cans and likely to mislead consumers! The fine was rather salty since it amounted to 500,000 euros!

But with the Internet, the worst is never final. Proof, a site created by researchers at Cornell University in the United States tests the comments of travel sites. His name and Review Skeptic detects scams with nearly 90% success according to its authors. Unfortunately, only a full review could take the test. But hey, this is not a concern in itself, just go to the English version of the booking site. So if you have doubts on some praise too, simply insert them as such in a small frame adapted for this purpose, click and wait for the results ... with a 90% success rate.

So there you are warned and, in principle, protected against scams too coarse.
