The country Sancerre Sologne hopes the Guide of the backpacker

Sancerre Sologne
The country Sancerre Sologne, solicited by the Guide du Routard, decided Tuesday evening to apply in partnership with the country Loire-Val d'Aubois, to integrate a guide that will concern both countries.

A guide to the backpacker will one day value the gastronomy and heritage of the country Sancerre Sologne? This is the wish of the elected representatives of the country union (which brings together sixty-two communes). They voted Tuesday night, at the party room of Dampierre-en-Crot, the country's candidature to enter the famous tourist guide that had besides asked for it.

This official candidature, the country Sancerre Sologne will not deposit it alone, since it should associate on this project with the country Loire-Val d'Aubois, with which it is already partner on the program Leader (*). It would thus be a Guide of the routard which would highlight the assets of the two countries.

For both countries, this publicity nationally and internationally would obviously have a cost. "The design and the edition of the guide with 15,000 copies cost 50,000 euros," says Romain Bardonnaud, tourism leader for the country, knowing that this project could be financed under the Leader program and thus be subsidized to the tune of 40,000 euros .

A cost of 50,000 euros that could be subsidized to the tune of 40,000
"So there would be only 10,000 euros to be borne by the countries," said the president of the country Sancerre Sologne, Laurence Renier. Ten thousand euros would be distributed between the two countries, in proportion to their population (60% for the country Sancerre Sologne, 40% for the Loire-Val d'Aubois country).

The guide, owned by the two countries, could be sold in tourist offices and tourist providers in both territories at a price of € 4.90. And the team of the Guide of the routard would take care of the circulation of 5,000 more copies, "that it would also broadcast in its own networks, in particular on the international", supports Romain Bardonnaud.

About one year of work
The design would be carried out by the Guide du routard: photographs, texts, infos ... "It's a relatively long job, it takes about a year," says the tourist leader.

It remains to be seen whether the elected representatives will have a right of control over what will appear in this famous guide. "The guide of the backpacker is very good, but they choose what they are going to put in, their good addresses", remarked Martine Mallet, deputy mayor of Aubigny-sur-Nère. "We will not have the exhaustiveness of the accommodations of our territory," adds Xavier Tabournel, the mayor of Clémont. "I saw their guide on the Loire by bike, and it has changed a lot," says Jean-Louis Billaut, Mayor of Boulleret. We are more on a classic tourist guide, there is no longer that piquant side that there was before. "

National Communication
For the country, it would in any case "a means of communicating at the national level, which we can not afford with the leaflets produced by our offices", argues Laurence Renier. "But structures such as the gites of France stop producing documents written to be only" on canvas ", retorts Jean-Claude Morin, mayor of Sury-ès-Bois, we must also see what we could have On the internet, "he suggests. And to conclude: "We should not work ten years late. "
